Civil Engineer

Our client in the manufacturing industry of construction materials is looking forward to hiring a Civil Engineer. If you have been working as an engineer in building construction (Both Residential and Commercial), and have worked closely with clients in design, execution, and project management then this is the job for you. 

Your key responsibilities will be:

• Innovate and optimize our supply chain for our launch market

• Develop new partnerships and lead communications with various partners

• Manage inventory sourcing, planning, and optimization while working closely with our production team

• Track field activities in the supply chain

• Manage purchase, delivery, and inventory of raw inputs to ensure efficient production

• Communicate and negotiate with suppliers and vendors to land more profitable deals

• Resolve issues that come up (e.g. delays in delivery, accidents)

• Work with the production team to translate client projects into design

• Lead technical implementation of projects including design, manufacturing, and assembly

• Conduct research on various use cases for the Client’s existing products

• Design and innovate on the Client’s product offering

• Undertaking complex calculations that are required for construction

• Conduct feasibility assessments and site inspections

• Preparing and implementing project plans

• Researching and providing estimates for projects

• Monitoring and optimizing safety procedures, production processes, and regulatory compliance

• Making recommendations presenting alternative solutions to problems

• Confidently liaising with clients and other professional subcontractors

• Project management duties (e.g. managing budgets, resources, and deadlines; acquiring and compiling quotes, etc.)

• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• MSC/BSC Degree in Civil Engineering/COTM 

• 5-7 years of relevant work experience

• Professional experience in the use of AutoCAD and other applicable civil design software

• Able to accommodate to a position based in Addis Ababa, with travel to Adama

Desirable skills

• Ability to communicate effectively and openly

• Experience working in ambiguous work environments

• Experience creating a new supply chain from scratch

• Passionate about environmental impact and deep conviction in Client’s mission

• Desire to grow into a strategic role and manage a team

• Willingness to travel to various partners in our supply chain‘
