Rapid Assessment on Gender Equality and Social Inclusion in selected high schools of Addis Ababa
Background Information
Canadian Physicians for Aid and Relief (CPAR) is an INGO founded in 1984 in response to the famine in Ethiopia. It works with a vision of creating a stronger health system in Africa and with a mission of building health system capacity and supporting healthy lives in low resourced regions. In line with this, CPAR Ethiopia is planning to embark on a new project titled, Commemorating Victims of Ethiopian Airlines 302 by Empowering Disadvantaged High School Students in Addis Ababa, with a financial support of Transport Canada. . This project is designed to commemorate victims of Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 (ET302) crashed near Addis Ababa on March 10, 2019 in visible and meaningful way.
The project will be carried out in 11 secondary schools in Addis Ababa (1 school in each sub-city) from April 2023 and March 2027. It’s expected to reach 25,000 to 28,000 students, approximately 15 percent of the total high school population of Addis Ababa. The project main objective is promoting gender equality and social inclusion, and positive and healthy lifestyles among the targeted public high school students. To this end, it’s found to be important to quickly assess and develop a preliminary understanding about gender and social inclusion related knowledge and practices among the students of the targeted schools.

Job Requirements
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in Gender Studies and Development, Education or related fields
At least ten years of progressive experience in gender equality and social inclusion
Previous experience of work in youth focused projects/programs and familiarity with gender-, age- and disability-sensitive project approaches
An in-depth understanding of safeguarding principles
Excellent research and analytical writing skills
