Position Summary:
The Project & ECD Officer will work as a part of the company’s head office team, responsible for overseeing and reviewing project documents and contents related to the early childhood development (ECD) sector. The ideal candidate should have a minimum educational background of ECD, at least 3-5 years of experience working directly related to the ECD sector & projects with strong communication skills, and demonstrated expertise on ECD. The Project & ECD Officer will develop an ECD strategy for the company that aligns with the project work plan and annual targets, and also engage with the team to develop their skills by providing training and coaching sessions. The project & ECD Officer will be responsible for managing the two innovation’s (Tsehai for Families & Tsehai Loves Learning) under the target of parents & caregivers (pre-pregnancy up to 10 years old stage) & children’s.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Review and analyze project documents and contents related to early childhood development, and provide feedback and recommendations to the project staff on how to improve the quality of the ECD components.
Develop an ECD strategy for the company that aligns with the project work plan and annual targets, and ensure that it is implemented effectively.
Work closely with the project staff to ensure that the ECD components of the projects are integrated into the overall project plans and activities.
Identify and recommend best practices in ECD and ensure that they are shared with the project staff.
Provide training and coaching sessions to the project staff on ECD-related topics, including but not limited to child development, parenting, and early learning.
Work closely with other teams within the organization to ensure that the ECD strategy is aligned with the overall company strategy and goals.
Participate in external meetings, workshops, and conferences related to ECD, and represent the company in these forums.
Keep up-to-date with the latest research, trends, and best practices in the field of early childhood development.
Lead the projects under the two innovations (Tsehai for Families and Tsehai Loves Learning) under the guidelines of donor/partner expectations and deliverables.
People management
As an ECD Lead, you will be responsible for managing two innovation teams and driving the understanding and application of Early Childhood Development (ECD) principles to our processes. Your key responsibilities in this area will include:
Managing two innovation teams to fully understand the prospect of ECD and to directly apply it to the processes
Capacity building of internal teams to raise awareness level of early childhood development using trainings, workshops, and other methodologies
Process management
Your role as a Project & ECD officer will also involve utilizing critical processes to deliver Social and Behavior Change (SBC) guided products up to the required standards. You will be expected to:
Utilize critical process to deliver SBC guided products up to the standards
Utilize the core system of Whiz Kids with high integrity and effectively implementing them to ensure product & process adhere to standards
Product management
In addition, the ideal candidate will be responsible for releasing products that adhere to SBC standards and guidelines, both as per the project and universal standards. Your key responsibilities in this area will include:

Review tools, documents, and materials in an SBC approach to refine them and better be released in an SBC approach
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
Bsc/Msc degree in Early Childhood Development or related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working directly related to the ECD sector.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts effectively.
Demonstrated expertise on ECD, with a deep understanding of child development, parenting, and early learning.
Experience in developing and implementing ECD strategies, plans, and activities.
Experience in providing training and coaching sessions to staff and stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
