Project Summary:
HELVETAS Ethiopia in consortium with People in Need, Concern Worldwide, CIAI, and WHH started the implementation of “CHANGE Improving Access to Education for Most Marginalized Girls” Project to be implemented from 2019 – 2023. The project aims at improving the life chances of out of school and highly marginalized girls in Borena Zone. The project is implemented in 17 selected administrative communities (Kebeles) in 3 administrative districts of Yabello, Elwaye and Dillo.
Main Tasks:
Training and Development
Identifying and meeting stakeholders such as companies and sector sills councils and discuss the opportunities for placing skilled students.
Collaborating with small and medium enterprises to develop vocational training models in schools to create demand for skill-based workforce.
Facilitate agreements among TVET, Private companies and relevant government sector offices, industries. So that they begin to focus and rely more on BOLSA as a source for skilled youth.
Promotion of good practices and foster innovation in introduction vocational training for students and TVET trainers.
Support the preparation of reports/project deliverable.
Plans, organizes and conducts project trainings, workshops and monitoring and evaluation with desirable quality and standard in cooperation with other team members.
Ensure the quality of training and workshops at all levels.
Coordinates project activities – trainings, workshops and other events and financial management related to these activities.
Conducts follow-ups, monitoring and evaluations in schools involved in the project.
Safeguarding
Provide information and advice on safeguarding and child protection.
Represent Helvetas Yabello field office inter-agency safeguarding and child protection meetings.
Coordinate with HR on staff and partner safeguarding training ensuring a rolling program of training and orientation for all new staff.
Prepare and share timely safeguarding and child protection reports as required.
Contribute to monthly, quarterly and annual reports of the project.
Individually responsible to safeguard the wellbeing of children, adults and all who may come into contact with Helvetas field office.
Set a functional compliant handling mechanism and promptly reporting incidents/concerns in line with project and organization referral procedures.
Job Requirements
Education / Qualification:
BA in law, Sociology, Economics, Social Work, Community Development, Development Studies, Gender study, Project Planning and Management, or related social science field to governance.
Relevant Experience:
A minimum of 5 years’ work experience and of which 2 years NGO related work experience;
Previous similar experience on leading gender, mainly under NGO environment preferably in Borana pastoralist area;
Solid knowledge about capacity building approaches and working modalities;
Demonstrated experience in trainings and workshops facilitation
Relevant experience working within a partnership agreement
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
